superbowl sunday

OK, I shall stop fronting right now because I am completely sports-illiterate, so much so that my own mother is ashamed to call me her own. Embarrassing confession #2: I totally dug Paula Abdul back in the day (it was the choreography, I swear!), so I was a bit curious to see her performance this afternoon. It’s just too bad that I didn’t realize that her (taped?) segment actually aired during the pre-show and since me and Cherish were chowing down at Mishima until 3pm, I missed the whole thing. Guess I’ll catch up with Ms. Paula on YouTube.

Big up to the Giants, of course, but there’s also a lot of other stuff going on that requires our attention, too.

Super Tuesday is barely 48 hours away and I’m feeling both anxious and nervous because the stakes are so high. Here’s hoping that folks really turn out to make their voices heard at the polls. CNN is on such political overload that it’s a wonder that the anchors haven’t imploded. But really, every time I look at Obama & Hilary, I can hardly believe that we’ve made it here. And the Kennedy endorsements are kinda deep, no?

My heart goes out to the families of the five women who were killed at Lane Bryant in Illinois. How unbelievable. How heartbreaking. I really wonder what kind of thoughts are going through somebody’s mind to commit such a heinous act of violence. The reports suggest a botched robbery, but the senseless loss of lives is just too much to fathom. I’m not a proponent of the death penalty, but when this type of crime occurs, I definitely have to rethink my position.

Oh, and what about the 15-year-old in Maryland who killed his parents and two younger brothers? So far, it’s been stated that he will be charged as an adult. What is going on with the kids? I mean, really?

Bought some Nag Champa incense cones yesterday. I feel like I need to turn the volume down a bit, so maybe I’ll burn one, or two, and just be quiet for a bit…ponder life, you know? Tomorrow will be a new, fabulous, day.
