So, my dearest, Scott Caudill, was in town last week, with tickets to the TVLand Awards in tow. I love me some nostalgia TV, hence this event is high up on my annual “must-attend” list. Yor-el and I even took a post red-carpet photo for the archives.
Vanessa Williams hosted, Lionel Richie performed and the casts of Golden Girls and Roseanne took home statues along with Garry Marshall (what an a-mazing career!), Mike Myers and Jonathan Winters. Oh, and the show opened with some familiar faces from TV’s past (think Horseshack, JJ and Arnold Drumming) swooping in from up above, a la The Flying Nun. Hysterical, cheesey fun…I loved every minute of it.
I’d be guilty of withholding valuable information if I didn’t fess up to wanting to swipe that fabulous floral centerpiece from our table. Val raised me better than that, but if that vat of beautiful roses hadn’t weighed a ton, I would have surely been holding it in this picture, trust!
