Like everybody else, I am completely and utterly high on President Obama. I mean, so high that I could pass out at any second.
This morning, I headed out around 7 o’clock to take my spot on the lawn for inauguration. To my surprise, my dearest, Kenny Ward, who I’d arranged to meet up with on the walk over, landed three, “silver tickets” just hours before and was gracious enough to share the wealth with yours truly and his sister, Lenne’. Kenny snapped a gang of photos, including this shot of me and Lenne’ as we were making our way through the crowd and needless to say, her sweatshirt was a huge hit! I had my handmade, Obama bracelet tied onto my right wrist, tucked under my yellow glove and beneath two layers of sweaters. It was freezing cold, but I don’t think we really felt the chilly air. We were all too busy screaming and looking at each other in disbelief, like…”Can you believe this is happening?” Yes we can.
I have so much to type, so many thoughts to share, but I’m a bit too wound up to type it all out tonight. I promise a full post in the days to come. Here’s hoping that I’ll be able to speak in clear sentences when I come down…and thaw out.
