I’m not really much of a drinker, but like many folks, I’ve been sipping on a gang<\/span> of Obama Kool-Aid, for months now. I’m officially kind of drunk, yet I can’t seem to put down my glass or<\/span> stop grinning from ear-to-ear.<\/p>\n

It’s been almost a week since he was elected and I swear, I still can’t believe it, but it’s real. It’s real. When I watched him speak at his first press conference<\/a> on Friday morning, I just beamed at the screen like, “He looks so…Presidential!”<\/p>\n

I watched Will Smith on Thursday’s Oprah and when she asked how he felt about Barack’s appointment, he said, simply, “There are no more excuses.” I mean, really.<\/span> This man climbed out of the trenches and worked and worked and worked his way to the top spot. Whenever I see him, I’m reminded that as much as the swerve is important, it’s the sweat that keeps you in the game for the long haul.<\/p>\n

I’m in on Saturday night and much to my surprise, I’m not tripping. Life is funny. I remember when I would go crazy if I stayed in the house for too long, especially on the weekend. Now, I’m content to finish up my expenses while watching this Tribe Called Quest\/Q-Tip marathon on VH1 Soul. I forgot how fly Tip<\/a> was, is. He makes me appreciate Queens just a little bit more.<\/p>\n

To be honest, my brain is a tad bit tired right about now. I have a new rule – I will write (for work and fun) for six days and then, rest on the seventh. And since it’s after midnight, I’m technically cutting into my one vacation day.<\/p>\n

So, on that note, I’m out.<\/p>\n
