I don’t care that Britney Spears was released from the hospital. Really I don’t. I do hope she pulls it together, but the up-to-the-minute coverage I can do without. There’s way too much real shit going on in the world.
Five people were gunned down during a hostage situation in the Valley last night/this morning, including a member of the LAPD Swat Team, the first of his detail to be killed on the job in decades. I watched the extended coverage of the story on the news at 4pm. Mayor Villaraigosa was damn near in tears during his speech as the fallen officer had once guarded his children. Beyond sad. But guess who the very next segment was about? Yes, the ever-unraveling Ms. Spears.
How can we turn down (off!) the volume on this nonsense?
